In the mid 1980s, when Stanley Macbeth decided to retire, Michael and Susan Gibson bought the business as an outlet for their farm at Edinvale. From the start, the farm and the butchery worked together, supplying local customers, hotels and restaurants, as well as a butcher’s van serving the surrounding villages.

Jock Gibson returned to the business in 2007 and now runs it alongside his wife Fiona. In 2015, they took on full responsibility for both the butchery and Edinvale Farm, continuing the same joined up approach between land, livestock and product.

Over the years, we have also sought out other farms, crofts and smallholdings that share our values, and we are proud to supply their produce alongside our own.

While we are proud to supply hotels and restaurants across the north of Scotland and sell our products throughout the UK, our roots remain firmly in Forres. We are proud of our heritage and of continuing to operate from the heart of the town.

That connection is still at the heart of what we do. We rear our cattle and butcher the meat ourselves, keeping control of quality all the way through.
