Portland sheep are a hardy thrifty breed which are apparently easy to handle but do take some catching! The Portland breed is listed as AT RISK on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust watchlist
We are delighted to get this Portland Hogget from Parkhill House. The meat from this is, as you would expect of a native breed, exceptional in terms of taste and texture. We dry age this hogget for 10 to 14 days to bring out the natural flavour of this exceptional meat.
