Lorne and pigAt Macbeth's we are lucky in that we have a friend who lives just along the coast near Nairn, where he reares (amongst other things) his own rare breed pork from a closed herd of free range pigs.  The majority of the pork is from the hardy variety Large Black but they also have Tamworth, Gloucester Old Spot and middle white sows.

They are all traditional, slow maturing pigs that spend their whole life outdoors.  The pork that comes from Lorne at Geddes is a dark, rich, flavoursome meat with good cover.
